Why I Left Social Media

In a word: cowardice. Here's a video of me just now thinking about my departure (I stopped tweeting and blogging earlier this year.)

For a little context, see my homage to Jason McCullough. It's worthy of comparison with Hamlet's "to be or not to be". A convocation of politic worms is turning, me thinks.

I was sorry to see you stop blogging and leaving Twitter. I always appreciated your thoughtfulness and you invariably brought a completely new angle to any debate.

Thanks, Debbie. It was always a pleasure to write thinking of you as one my readers. Ultimately, I left literally because I felt like it: I didn't like the way it felt to be on social media. But, like I say, I'm no longer sure that feeling was as noble (or "mature") as I told myself it was at the time. We'll see how I feel tomorrow. ;-)
